Wyre Forest Gang Show

Gang shows are a popular type of staged performance, where the cast are all young people in scouting. They work together with volunteers to plan, write, cast, produce, and choreograph the show, which is usually full of a variety of singing, dancing, and sketches.

After an extended break we are hoping to return Gang Show to the to the Wyre Forest and we are currently looking for some enthusiastic explorer scouts / older scouts to form the production team. We have a wide range of roles available and the opportunity to get on stage as well.

There will be an opportunity for younger sections to get involved in the new year.

The show is going to be stage over a single weekend with rehearsals on the Friday evening and Saturday. Leading to the performance on Sunday Afternoon. So there is no commitment to lengthy rehearsals.

Members of the production crew will need to attend a few meetings in the lead up and then the whole weekend of 14th – 16th March

Here are a few videos from previous Gang Shows.

We are looking for keen and enthusiastic Scouts and Explorer Scouts aged 13+ to fill the following lead roles for the new Wyre Forest Gang Show. Each role will be supported by a knowledgeable Adult Volunteer to provide mentoring and support. Taking up any of these roles as a young person does not mean you have to stay off the stage. You will be more than welcome to also be part of the cast performing on stage as well if you would like to.

There will be the requirement to attend a few production meetings in the lead up to the main weekend and then be present for the whole of the Gang Show weekend (14th – 16th March 2025)

The deadline for applications is 8th December 2024.
